We Did It!
Yes, we still have a few days to go before we reach the final showcase of this highly successful, emotional, and eventful rollercoaster ride that has been the 2025–26 school year. However, we all know that together we can make it happen, and we know that in the coming days you all will continue to find the joy, purpose, and sense of belonging that bind this amazing school community together.
First and foremost, thank you to everyone who poured their hearts, minds, and professional expertise into writing report card comments and making thoughtful evaluative judgments about student progress and learning. Reading those comments always provides a remarkable insight into our students—their successes, growth, perseverance, and the challenges they have worked through during the school year. They are a powerful reminder of the impact each of you has on the lives of children every day.
Congratulations as well to Elliot and Claudia for the incredible work on the ES Play, The Adaptation of Peter Pan. The students clearly enjoyed every moment of the performance and brought their learning journey to a beautiful conclusion with confidence, grace, and joy. Despite several last-minute adjustments to the script and songs, the production came together wonderfully, creating a warm and memorable experience for our community.
This week will focus on final report card checks, grade-level end-of-year celebrations, and recognizing and celebrating another successful school year. We will also have opportunities to express our gratitude and farewell to colleagues who are moving on to new adventures. And, of course, we will conclude with the last day of school, the final assembly, and our workdays as we prepare classrooms and spaces for the summer break.
As we reflect on all that has been accomplished this year, we should take a moment to acknowledge the collective effort, resilience, flexibility, and care that made it all possible. Schools are ultimately about people, relationships, and shared purpose, and this community continues to demonstrate those qualities every day.
Talking about lasts, this is the final blog post of the school year.
Thank you for everything you have contributed to our students, families, and one another throughout the year. We wish you a wonderful final week and, after that, a well-deserved, restful, and joyful summer break.
Katie, Erin, and Heikki
