Dear colleagues
It feels like we’ve hit that time of year when all students and teachers alike are running on reserve energy and ready for a pause. The good news? We have a whole week off just around the corner to rest, recharge, and come back refreshed.
In the meantime, this week’s parent-teacher conferences are an excellent opportunity to reconnect with families. These conversations aren’t just about progress updates; they’re a chance to strengthen the partnerships that make such a difference for our students. When parents and teachers work together, share insights, and communicate openly, our students feel supported, understood, and motivated to do their best. That sense of trust between home and school allows our learners to flourish.
We’ve also been so encouraged to see more specialists joining Community Time recently. These shared moments are creating even stronger connections across classes and grade levels, helping students know that they belong to a broader learning community. This is a wonderful trend that we’ll continue to build on after the break.
A big thank-you as well to the faculty members who have been joining restorative circles with students. Your presence has made these sessions especially meaningful for our students. It has led to deep, reflective conversations that help them learn to listen, empathize, and repair relationships and see their actions from other perspectives. These shared moments of care and understanding make a lasting difference.
Thank you for continuing to bring patience, positivity, and care to your classrooms, especially during these busy weeks. We see your efforts and the many ways you show up for students and one another every day. Let’s make the most of this short week and look forward to that well-deserved break ahead!
Katie, Heikki, and Erin
