Dear all,
This week will start with hot weather, bringing back the possibility of shortening lunch recess time and emphasizing the importance of talking to students about seeking shade, keeping their water bottles filled, hydrated throughout the day, and wearing hats to protect themselves from the hot sun. Those on duty, please carefully monitor students who may show signs of heat stroke and ask them to drink water and go indoors if needed. According to the weather forecast, the heat will be most intense during the first half of the week, with some rain expected toward the end.
MAP testing starts in Grades 3–5, and we are now nearly finished with the Acadience and WIDA assessments, which support our report card writing process and help crystallize the final focus areas in both literacy and mathematics.
On Tuesday, the Grade 5 parents will connect with the Middle School team during the morning workshop, and on Thursday, the KB and Grade 1 teams will help our KB families prepare for the move from the ELAC building to the main building.
Wednesday morning brings our penultimate ES assembly, and in the afternoon, we will have our final SEEDS group gathering during the first hour before coming together for the whole-school
Town Hall meeting.
This weekend, the high school students will celebrate the end of the year through the exciting Prom dance, and on Sunday, the CA community will come together to compete in the annual golf tournament.
Finally, thank you to everyone who supported the Falcon Cup event. The tournament brought together 280 students to play, compete, and enjoy the sunny day. Booster Club volunteers kept everybody going with their wonderful snacks, and of course, Trevor, Kris, Jan, Hiroki, and Sim designed the entire event to run smoothly. Well done as well to the 90 CA players who made it through the long and exciting day of sports.
