Weekly Updates, Monday, 11 December, 2023

Dear colleagues,

The last week of the fall semester has arrived, and we are ready to begin the gradual transition to the winter holiday season. These final weeks always demand a lot from us as we tackle the report card writing challenge, navigate heightened student emotions, and come to terms with the busy year we've had so far.

Thank you to the Student Council for the Spirit Week! Plenty of smiles and community-building were evident. What a great way to connect across the whole school!

This week, we still have several holiday parties planned, which can still pose a challenge in terms of crowd control. Despite the wonderful and timely festive atmosphere, please lend a hand to one another, maintain our routines for the students, and plan the remaining days with extra care to prevent any potential conflicts that might overshadow our good intentions.

We wish you all a fantastic week, and when we finally wrap up on Friday, we hope you'll feel a sense of accomplishment and depart for the holidays with a big smile on your face.

Enjoy this final week, and have a joyful holiday season!

Erin, Trevor, and Heikki

Weekly Updates, Monday, 4 December, 2023

Dear colleagues,

As we approach the final two weeks of school before the winter holiday, let's come together to create a positive and supportive atmosphere for both our learners and one another. It's natural for excitement and emotions to run high during this time. Let's reinforce our expectations and strive to be fully present during transitions to ensure a smooth and harmonious environment.

Congratulations to Kae-san for running a very successful parent educational technology workshop and to Yoshiko and Ellen for continuing their significant efforts to support the parenting skills of our parents last week.

This week marks an excellent opportunity to continue our educational journey with our festive Spirit Week ahead! We hope you join in the fun in the daily themes. We will conclude the week with an Extended Learning session on Friday, and then, on Saturday, we as a faculty and staff can all come together to celebrate the winter season at the Winter Holiday Party on campus.

Let's embrace this upcoming festive spirit and make these two weeks memorable for our students and ourselves.

Warm regards,

Erin, Trevor, and Heikki
