Weekly Updates, Monday, 27 March, 2023

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to Ohanami and the final stretch of the school year! The March break marks the change in seasons and starts the anticipation of the summer months. Before we let our minds take us there, we have a wonderful opportunity to look at the learning of our students, design intentional and targeted learning and help our students to have a successful month of learning which we can then showcase and celebrate during the student-led conferences and PYP Exhibition.

This week the whole school gathers together on the green belt to celebrate Ohanami under the beautiful sakura. On Thursday, students will engage in the extended learning session.

Finally, we will welcome two new KB students and one grade 1 student this week.

Let’s have a wonderful week!

Weekly updates, Monday, 13 March 2023

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the week prior to spring break. There has been a clear change in the weather and as it brings sunshine, warm spells, and allergies. We are clearly moving toward spring after the long winter period.

The week starts with the new order in the school. No masks required and no dividers in the cafeteria. This may all feel a bit strange at first and please help the students once again to understand that wearing a mask is a personal choice and no one should feel pressured either to put on a mask or take their off. mask.

Other signs of the ending of the winter season are the final skating trips. Well done Hiroki and all the teachers and parents for keeping the students safe and having fun while practicing the skill of skating. Hopefully, everything finishes in the same positive manner.

On Tuesday, we will get together as an Elementary School to celebrate learning and our community in our March assembly.

Let’s have a wonderful week,

Erin, Trevor, and Heikki
