Dear colleagues,
The last three weeks are underway. We are all getting a little bit tired as we are extremely busy with report card
writing, completing all the learning engagements, and getting ready for the end of the year procedures. Students
are also reacting to the closeness of the end, so routines and preparation will be key for ensuring a successful
finish of the school year. So please stick to the class routines as much as possible, keep the students focused on
learning, and keep on smiling.

Congratulations to Satsuki and grade 3 and 4 students for the successful and fun-filled concert on Friday. Also,
the grade 3 business unit was yet another exciting closure of the unit and the concert night. Thank you to Renee
for organizing the IB workshops with the help of many ES faculty members. Jen Cardon, Steve, Kris, Riana,
Trevor and Heikki participated in the IB PYP workshop that focused on exploring the opportunities created by
the increased flexibility in the program implementation. We worked on a draft action plan around student agency
for the school year 2019-2020. This draft proposal will be shared with faculty on 12 June for feedback. This
Wednesday we will get together as a whole school for Town Hall meeting with Jon and reflecting on Tankyuus.
On Thursday, Riana, Trevor, and Heikki will spend Thursday on planning the first weeks in August. On Sunday,
our Seniors (Gr 12) will celebrate their graduation.
