Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the PD day after hopefully a wonderful fall break. The PD day on Monday will focus on three themes; Social and Emotional Well-being of us adults, Data, and Strengthening the Culture of Kindness in the Elementary School. Different teams and team members will also have more tailored sessions throughout the day. Please, find the schedule below.

The four-day school week will consist of a Japanese Parent workshop on Tuesday morning, which may delay the start of the third lesson a bit, and the Fall Celebration (conveniently coinciding with Halloween) on Wednesday. Our Wednesday Collaboration time is dedicated to Extended Learning planning and the Tankyuu process.

Heikki is still in Finland this week and will be available daily on zoom from 13:00 onwards.

In urgent matters, particularly in the mornings, please turn to Erin and Trevor for help.

Dear colleagues,

Welcome to the final week before our well-earned October break! We started with the successful Sports Day last week and had a very busy week, including the EAL parent workshop, extended learning, book character day,
field trips, ES assembly, and all the normal busy learning life. No wonder the week felt like it was going on for quite a while. Luckily, the weekend has been gorgeous with warm and sunny weather. Hopefully, everyone has had the chance to recover and prepare for this week, including the Student Services workshop and, of course, the Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Please, sign up by following this link for the different Student Services before Wednesday so Kim’s and Saiko’s teams can work on the logistics.

This week must be busy with everyone getting ready for the parents coming to the campus or meeting them online. The new schedule may show some new features we haven’t quite experienced yet so let’s stay open-minded and flexible as the last two days unfold.
