Happy New Year 2018!
Welcome back from the wonderful winter break, and let’s enjoy the excitement and wonders of learning will bring to us all by the second semester.
This first week of school is without any major events.Just getting back to routines, getting started, and welcoming a few new students and their families to CA.
On Tuesday morning we will have a faculty meeting to welcome everyone back and to look ahead
the next few weeks and our milestones this spring. It is also a great opportunity for heads-up about
e.g. student council, track rats, visitors, social invitations etc.
Furthermore, this Wednesday’s professional learning time we will dive into mathematics with the
classroom, learning support, and EAL teachers and the LSAs. The PE, Music, Visual Arts,
Tech Integration and Library teachers can spend the time to plan their coming weeks.

One of the highlights of this spring will be Ron Ritchhart’s visit and workshop at CA in April.
As we are heading towards deepening our understanding of the cultural forces that promote thinking and
consequently student learning, we are inviting the parents to learn the basics about Cultures of Thinking
and hopefully, see some of the thinking routines in action on the 25th of January. Please, let us know if
you would like to participate in the coffee morning by sharing or trying out some of the cultural forces
in your class.
