Weekly Update, Monday 5 February 2018

Dear colleagues,

We will have a cold but mostly sunny week ahead to keep our spirits up. We can also look forward to the Teacher Appreciation Dinner this Sat (sponsored by the PTA), and our three-day Winter Break.

To balance out the opportunities for cheer, the weeks leading up to break will be busy. There are running records, spelling inventories, ERB WrAP make-ups, new units for UOI, reading, writing and math, skating trips, and field trips. Its busy, but also a great chance to plan strategically with assessments and unit reflections for students to shine at the three-ways by using their recent learnings and next steps to share with their parents. Use opportunities to collaborate and coordinate within your grade level team to ensure three-ways are consistent across the grade level. Thank you all for your effort and collaboration, as well as a special thank you to learning support and EAL teachers in helping the grade levels navigate the course of the next few weeks.
Please also be reminded that Kim and Trevor will lead the Tuesday Morning Meeting in the MPR. Here are some of the big ticket items on the agenda:
  • PD (Wednesday schedules and upcoming PD day)
  • Confirm logistics for Three-way Conferences
  • PYP Exhibition 2018 Intro
  • Running Records
  • Preparation for Pia Hansen’s visit (Tentative schedule)
Have a great week ahead.
