Dear colleagues,
Welcome back from the long weekend attached to the Golden Week. This break serves as the last breather before
making the last push to the summer. The IB Diploma exams continue this week, so please do not bring the students
to the Atrium during mornings or afternoons. However, the atrium is available during lunch recess in case of a rainy
day. Congratulations for both 1st and 4th graders for their successful sharing of learning with the respective parents.
Very proud, confident, and happy students were around in the building last week.

This Wednesday, the Program Integration Group will share a proposal regarding integrating PoI, Bridges, and
Balanced Literacy effectively. Also, the end-of-year-checklist will be shared with the ES faculty. The second hour
offers us the final opportunity to share with and learn from our colleagues. This T2T session focuses on the Cultural
Forces in our classrooms from the Cultures of Thinking. Please, sign up for a session or volunteer to run one as
soon as possible.

Finally, as the weather is changing and the end of the year is getting closer it is important to keep in mind and
remind ourselves about keeping routines intact in the classroom, playground, and the cafeteria. Students are often
running high with their emotions and are sensing that the year is coming to its end. The children are paying a
careful attention to us adults how we respond to this time of the year as well. Do we, for example, allow students to
have shortcuts in the working expectations; or whether we hold them accountable for their behaviors as before?
To avoid conflicts or difficult conversations with parents or your colleagues, we strongly recommend reminding
students about expectations for learning, working, and behaviors, and holding them accountable as well. Let’s stay
kind but firm particularly.
