Dear colleagues,
Well done surviving the short week of fall celebrations (aka Halloween) and recovering from the PD day and the holiday! Congratulations to the Japanese team for having their first parent workshop face-to-face in a long time. This week we try to establish some level of routine by having the Tuesday Faculty Briefing, and on Wednesday, taking time to reflect on student learning and our teaching, as well as getting ready for the Report Card writing season approaching the horizon. Also, classroom teaching teams will spend some time refreshing our thinking on teaching and learning mathematics.
On Monday, we will have visitors from Ritsumeikan Primary School, and they are predominantly interested in seeing how we integrate technology into our daily life and learning. Kae-san is their host and they are mainly spending time in the Makers Space. Let’s make them feel welcome in our school.
Ellen, Yoshiko, and Yuka Watanabe will launch their three-part parent workshop on Positive Parenting on Thursday. It has been a long time since we have run these workshops face-to-face, so it will be an exciting and meaningful experience for both the presenters and the participants.
Finally, grades 2 and 4 will enjoy the outdoor education activities led by Hiroki. These trips are excellent opportunities for the children to bond, build friendships, and challenge themselves outside the school walls.
Heikki’s flight was re-scheduled, so he will arrive in Kobe late Monday evening and be back on campus from Tuesday onwards.
