Dear colleagues,Happy New Year 2024, and welcome back!
We have started the new year with the unsettling news from Ishikawa prefecture, which was struck by the earthquake and the unfortunate plane collision at Haneda airport. As a school, we will find ways to support any community members directly and indirectly impacted by these events and, furthermore, take time to address any concerns raised by students.
We will start the spring term with a Professional Development Day, including an IB self-study session and designing learning for the week and beyond.
Unfortunately, due to the accident at Haneda airport and consequent changes in flight schedules, Heikki's Sunday evening flight from Haneda to Itami was cancelled, and he will be arriving at KIX at noon on Monday.
On Tuesday, we will get ready for the students; hence, the morning faculty briefing will take place next week.
The students will arrive with excitement and energy back in our capable educator hands. We have a great opportunity to harness that positivity for rebuilding the community, establishing learning goals, and engaging students in the co-construction of learning.
Let’s warmly welcome students back to school and enjoy the week reconnecting with students, families, and our colleagues.
