Weekly Update, Tuesday 17 September, 2019

Dear colleagues,
Welcome back from the wonderful and timely long weekend. The short week will include MAPs testing for grades
3-5, important child protection, and first aid training on Wednesday and of course the Extended Learning afternoon
already Tuesday afternoon. Thank you again for the suggestions and feedback upon the duties. We will explore
and hopefully improve the time on duty and make the supervision purposeful and effective.
On Friday we have an opportunity to teach our students about being prepared for emergencies. Please, help the
students to understand the importance of quiet movement in the corridors.

Let’s have a good week!
Riana, Trevor, and Heikki

Please note the assessment timelines below and plan your assessments for your classes accordingly in your

collected during the school days.
  • Literacy: running records, on-demand writing for the first UOS assessed with checklists, Words their Way
  • inventories by September 27
  • Maths: G1-5 Unit 1 Post-assessment, G2-5 Unit 2 Pre-assessment
  • MAPs:  G3-5 Reading, Language and Maths 17 - 20 September

We will revisit the data dialogue protocol in our Wednesday meetings in the future.
