Dear colleagues
The gorgeous fall weather accompanied the yet another successful International Food and Fun Fair and welcomes us to the first
full week of school after the break. Tom Nehmy provided helpful aspects for managing our own stressors and ensuring that we
keep our well-being at the forefront when working with our students. The well-being conversation will be a helpful foundation
also when working on the behavior prevention and intervention plan with the committee. In the committee, we have Kris,
Ellen, Ava, Karen, Kieran, Yoshiko, Jan and Seth. We look forward to starting the process in the near future.

The first days back with the students were quite interesting in terms of behavior. We observed some intensive and somewhat
inappropriate exchanges of words during lunch and recesses as well as quite extensive running and noisy movements in the
hallways during the three school days. Please, help the students to regain the respectful and safe range of language as well as
hallway protocols by reminding them all about expectations at school, following through any poor choices made, and
accompanying and staying firm, visible and vigilant during transitions and recesses.

This week’s Wednesday learning is divided between preparing for Accreditation Visit and planning for the next Extended
Learning and on Thursday, to continue our well-being conversation with parents and students, Ellen will be leading a parent
session on Positive Discipline.
