Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the final full week before the long weekend. We hope you took advantage of the weekend by either wrapping yourself warmly indoors with a hot beverage and great entertainment or adventurously facing the cold wind outside bundled with warm layers.
Thank you to the Student Council for the wonderful Spirit Week! It was a great way of bringing the ES community together!
As we are keeping our eyes on the spread of the virus in Japan, we are cautiously and carefully sliding through the week of learning, hoping for the best. We hope we can stay and feel safe as we continue to welcome students back in class. We are well prepared to take the necessary steps should the situation change.
As per Heikki’s email, this week’s Teachers to Teachers has been canceled and we will see if we can find another slot for the event later in the year. This Wednesday, we will plan for the next unit of learning and take the opportunity to reflect and have a dialogue with our colleagues about the uncertainty around the pandemic that may cause worry and confusion.
A big thank you to everyone for making the learning and all the transitions flow flawlessly despite the absences in the past week. Special thanks to Hiroki, Heather, Kaoru, Kae, Celia, Neetu, Julia, and the Japanese team for stepping in during the absences of Jen, Trevor, and Noriko. We are looking forward to having Trevor and Noriko back on Wednesday.
Let’s have a wonderful week!
Riana, Trevor, and Heikki
