Dear Colleagues,
Thank you to everyone for making the MAP training go so smoothly this fall. In grades 3 - 5, we will do one more standardized assessment to gather some early data in the form of WIDA assessment. The EAL teachers are well trained and knowledgeable of the testing, so it should go smoothly, although it brings some disruptions to the regular schedules.
As we get closer to the BTSN, please make an extra effort to keep all the learning spaces inviting, tidy and organized as the parents come in. An organized and clutter-free learning environment is not only important during the BTSN. Most importantly, keeping our environment organized helps our students stay focused, and we, through modelling, that they truly understand the expectations for developing their self-management and organizational skills. The BTSN schedule can be found here.
We hope that by Thursday, we will have sorted all the packing boxes in rooms and cupboards. It is a great goal for us to stay organized, particularly in the new spaces, to ensure that the learning environment and the furniture are used as designed for learning.
We celebrate this week on Friday with our September assembly and then get three days to breathe and rejuvenate. What a great little treat at the end of this otherwise somewhat stressful and long week.
Let’s have a wonderful week!
