Weekly Updates, Monday, 6 November, 2023

Dear Colleagues,

We hope you enjoyed the beautiful and still very warm November weekend and had a chance to rest after the busy week following the break and working with Matt Glover.

Once again, congratulations to everyone who had the opportunity to learn from Matt and work with him during the week. What a treat it was to be guided by Matt in teaching writing in an inspiring and effective manner. Many of Matt's valuable insights will not only help us become more effective teachers of literature but also highly effective educators in general. His experience, skillset, and teaching approach are something we aspire to adopt as educators. We are committed to continuing our professional development in this direction in the future.

This week, we will welcome visitors from Fukuoka International School who will be visiting some of our classes on Monday. They are eager to observe the IB PYP in practice. On Tuesday, we will convene for our monthly faculty briefing to plan ahead and ensure that we have all the necessary steps and events in mind as we approach the winter break in just six weeks.

On Wednesday, our focus will primarily be on data dialogue and report card guidelines in the afternoon. Additionally, this week will see several classes participating in field trips. Please ensure that single-subject teachers are well-informed about any changes in the schedules.

Wishing you all a productive and fulfilling week ahead!

Erin, Trevor, and Heikki
