Inquiry and Student-Centred Learning: Game-on

Dear Colleagues,

Tuning-in for our Inquiry and Student-Centred Learning Workshop will begin at 8:00 in the MPR on Monday. Tea and coffee will be available from 7:45. For the rest of the week, here is the Monday to Wednesday schedule link. All planning sessions will be held in the ELAC Conference Room. Make sure to bring a copy of Making the PYP Happen. There will be paper copies available in the conference room. Here is a link to Making the PYP Happen and Developing a Transdisciplinary Programme of Inquiry in case it is needed. Tania also has a unit planning process, which she will guide us through as we plan our units.

Tania arrived last night at KIX and is really looking forward to a week of inquiry with us, as well as getting to know us as a school. Tania Lattanzio is an experienced international educator. Previously a teacher, coordinator, and manager with the International Baccalaureate, she is now Director of Innovative Global Education (IGE). In this role she works as a consultant extensively in Asia Pacific and in other parts of the world. A passionate educator Tania works closely with educational institutions to specifically meet their needs in supporting school reform, making significant shifts in pedagogy and curriculum in both local and international settings. For more information about IGE, visit her site - Innovative Global Education.

Recording our Take-aways and Spreading the Word
We have a Padlet Bulletin Board setup for us to record our learning throughout the workshop and to serve as a place of reflection. Simply double-click on the 'bulletin board' and you will get a prompt on your computer, iPhone or iPad. From the prompt, you can add a quick take-away in text, upload a photo or video, add a website link or PDF, etc. At the end, we can use the board to reflect as a group, as well as share ideas. If you are having trouble accessing the board, please let me know.

Finally, please get the word out about our learning at CA using the hashtag #CAInspires on Twitter or Facebook. We have a lot to shout out about at CA and this is part of sharing our story with the wider PYP community. To connect in with an active PYP group on Twitter add the hash tag #PYPchat as well.

Have a great week of inquiry learning!
