Weekly Update, Monday 8 February, 2016

Dear colleagues,
Thank you for the lively conversation and your feedback upon the Draft Action Plan II on Wednesday. It is great that there are so many of you expressing excitement around the plan. Recognizing that whenever we look ahead and the full agenda it often seems overwhelming and scary. It is great that there is still a sense of support to the direction the school is moving to and that many of your are already indicating willingness and enthusiasm of being active participants in our on-going journey of building our collective and individual Professional Capital. We all want to continue to teach and lead like pros and the Action Plan plays a pivotal role in keeping us on the course. Please, let us know if you have any suggestions to ensure effective use of time or to alleviate any concerns. Action Plan Draft II.
This week is going to be a wonderful four-day-extravaganza of building our craftsmanship through professional learning. I trust you will use every opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and ideas from Tania’s visit.

Inquiry and Student-Centred Learning Workshop
The purpose of our workshop is to: Inspire us to continue our learning on how to design and facilitate effective learning opportunities that value student thinking and promote conceptual understanding through inquiry. This connects strongly with what we have identified in our self-study and the Action Plan we reviewed last Wednesday. Here is the link to the Blogger post - Inquiry Game on! for more details.

Assembly
The next assembly will be on February 23 at 11:00.
This assembly is connected to the Pink Shirt Day originated in the Secondary School and coordinated between the counselors in both sections. Please find the blog post regarding the assembly here.
