End of Year Report Card Writing

Dear colleagues,

End of year report writing is getting closer. The following suggestions may help you to get them done and proofread more efficiently:
  • Ask a volunteer colleague to read a set of your comments for feedback
  • Write your report card comments on Google/Word document for easy editing
  • Provide your report card comments as printed documents to the ES office for Heikki, Kim, and Trevor's proofreading in advance before pasting them into the actual report card.
  • Start early and pace your report card writing so that you write a few students a day rather than trying to do too many at one go.
PowerSchool access to parents has been closed so that you will able to add information into your Gradebook. Relevant dates are as follows:
  • Tuesday, May 17: Q&A opportunity regarding report card writing, MPR
  • Wednesday, May 18 from 2:30-4:30 is for Report Card writing
  • Wednesday, May 25: from 2:30-4:30 is for Report Card writing
  • Monday, May 30 (or sooner): Report Card Comments due to ES Office
  • Wednesday, June 8: PowerSchool access open to parents, report cards sent home.
If you need any help for:
  • ESOL students: Trevor and the ESOL teachers
  • Learning Support Students: Aimee or Rose
  • Power School: Murray Smith/Heikki
  • Language choice: Kim, Trevor, and Heikki
Please note that Trevor, Kim, and Heikki will be reading the comments on the report cards. Initially, you may also want to send your draft comment to them for feedback as suggested above.
