Dear Colleagues,
This is the week of the final schedule pilot and we acknowledge and highly appreciate the flexibility, tolerance,
and the additional work running the pilots require. After this pilot, Heikki would like to have a team of 3-4 faculty
members as “added pairs of eyes” to go through the schedule to ensure that we can balance and rotate learning as
mindfully and smoothly as possible. Kaight has already kindly volunteered to be one of the members in the team.
Please, let Heikki know if you are interested in spending a day staring and designing the elements of the
schedule in early June.
Congratulations and thank you to the Japanese team and Trevor for successfully leading a parent coffee afternoon
for parents of native speakers of the language. The meeting was well attended and professionally conducted by the
presenters. Also, thank you to the POI team for finalizing the units so that we can start planning the exciting new
units for the school year 2019-2020.
This week the KB and Grade 1 team will explain how we support the transition from KB to Gr 1. During
Wednesday professional learning time we all engage with the new POI, brainstorm ideas for ES Action Plan 19-21,
as well as ideas how might we run a series of Extended Learning blocks in the school year 2019-2020?
On Thursday, we will enjoy dances and other interesting things in our assembly. Please, do not hesitate to share
learning experiences from your class as well.
So yet another busy week ahead of us. Let’s make it a good one!
Kim, Trevor, and Heikki
