Dear colleagues,
It is the final and last week of the year 2019 and the whole decade ahead of us! What a journey it has been so far!
We are very excited and proud of everyone and congratulations go to the whole Elementary School for making the
teaching and learning of students, faculty, and parents meaningful, effective, and very successful.

The past week was rich in learning for all the constituencies mentioned above. Thank you to Student Support
Services and Ellen for making the rotations smooth and rich learning experience to all. On Thursday, the Japanese
team had a wonderful parent learning session. Congratulations Emi, Kaho, and Noriko!

This week’s highlights include Extending Learning celebration and Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, and of
course the Holiday Assembly on Friday starting at 9:30 in the Black Box Theater. Another big thank you goes to
the report card writers for a thoughtful and thorough process of carefully crafting powerful comments describing
the process of learning. We are on schedule and the reports will be open on Friday by noon at the latest. The final
report card review will be happening on Tuesday and we are hopeful to be able to upload them to PowerSchool
on Wednesday and Thursday.
Have a great week!
Riana, Trevor, and Heikki
Message from Heikki:
I would like to express special thanks to everyone who helped, particularly to Riana and Trevor for stepping in, in
few places as I was away.
Also, I am grateful for the flexibility and understanding of all the changes that occurred during my absent days,
including the rescheduling of meetings. Finally, I highly appreciated all those caring and encouraging messages
received on Thursday and Friday. I will be joining the troops on Monday again.
