Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the month of November from hopefully a wonderfully restful and energizing autumn break!
After the successful parent-teacher online conferences we can build on what we have learned from both collecting evidence for the conferences and the conversations we had with the parents.
We start the week with two days of professional learning focusing on Bridges, curriculum design, Cultures of Thinking, Language Learning Strategies, Cognitive Coaching, and opportunities for building social capital.
Please, sign up for the Tuesday afternoon sessions as soon as possible so that we can organize the venues accordingly. Here you can also find the Schedule for the PD days so that you can orientate yourself for the two days.
Students will arrive on Wednesday (Day 1) including 7 new students. I am sure the students are excited to return the school and welcome the new friends into the different grade levels (PreK/KA, Gr 1, Gr 4, and Gr 5)
Also, on Wednesday, we will continue our collaborative learning time and the first session will be focusing on organizing ourselves into the Tankyuu groups. The minimum number of participants in each group is 3. As you may be thinking of the groups, please take into consideration that you are expected to observe and reflect on each of the group member’s lessons at least once during the school year.
We look forward to seeing you all!
Riana, Trevor, and Heikki
