Teachers-to-teachers Session Videos

Hi Everyone,

Thank you to all our presenters who took the time to prepare and share their experience. As the quote on the slide below suggests, let our colleagues mentor our thinking so we can see the hope in inside ourselves.

Here is a compilation of the session recording along with the session descriptions and some resources. This is the Google doc version.

Personal learning profiles

Session Recording

  1. Video recording of students giving feedback on Learner Profiles

  2. Slideshow

Description: As children enter a new school year, it takes time for relationships to be developed and for us to deepen our understanding of who the child is as a learner and as a person.  I was inspired by Renee’s and Kim’s in-house PD sessions on ‘Learning Diversity’’ and ‘Inclusion’. The goal of the personalized learner profile is to provide a means that promotes as well as develops agency and self-efficacy within every child. We believe this platform gives all students a voice to be included and understood as they transition into a new learning environment/new school year. Children know themselves best, so it is paramount we involve them in the process of creating a place that equips, supports, and provides them with the tools to cope and self-regulate.

Teaching content and language

Session Recording

  1. Padlet link

  2. SLIDES Content Language and Learning - Teachers to Teachers.pdf

Description: CLIL (Content and language integrated learning) Principle #1 states that language is best taught through content. I would like to share resources I received during a recent PD, Principles & Practices for Teaching Multilingual Learners in International Schools By Dr. Virginia Pauline Rojas. It is my hope that we can grow our practice through an informal sharing of how we currently integrate content and language learning in our classrooms as well as practice taking a content objective you might be teaching now and identify the language objectives.
