Weekly Updates, Monday 29 April, 2024

 Dear colleagues,

Congratulations on the successful and important facilitation of the Student-Led Conferences! Very proud learners and students left for the weekend, celebrating the growth and achievements reached so far.

Thank you to Eeqbal for facilitating our thinking about learning projections, scope, and sequences and helping the teams plan their units around the principles of DEIJ.

This week will finalize the PYP exhibition. The learning journey, with all its turns, successes, and struggles, will be highlighted throughout the week and will culminate on Wednesday, when the CA community is invited to celebrate the learning of our oldest Elementary School students. The Grade 5 team is fully occupied with preparation, providing the students with final nudges to practice and complete this year’s exhibition.

As we move towards the Golden Week break and the last six weeks of school, it may be helpful to think about ways to focus on the precious time we have left with our learners. The excitement and emotions will definitely be part of the learning, lunch, and playground time in the last few weeks. Knowing your students well, we are sure you will find ways to stay supportive of and calm towards our students, whatever challenges we may face.

Let’s enjoy the short week!

Erin, Trevor, and Heikki
