Curriculum, Research and Design Team

Dear colleagues,
As explained earlier, the Literacy and Mathematics leaders are now merged into a Curriculum, Research and Design team member role. This means that instead of being solely focused on developing literacy and mathematics curriculum, programs, and instruction we will be asking the same members to serve in a similar role in all curriculum areas.

We are looking for colleagues who are willing to extend their expertise and resourcefulness to all areas of the core curriculum (mathematics, literacy, science, and social studies), interested in sitting in research and development committees to explore curricular and program revisions, and opening their classes as LabSites for improving instructional practices in the Elementary School.

Curriculum, Research, and Design Teams are seen as teacher leaders with normal teaching load with interest in curriculum design, teaching, and learning, as well as professional development.

Compensation 100 000 JPY stipend/year
The expectations for the position:
Meetings outside normal school hours ( from 1 to 1.5 hours at a time, approximately 5-10 times a year)
All/half day meetings during school hours (approximately 4 - 6 times a year)
Openness and interest in Cognitive Coaching in improving professional competences
Opening classroom doors for LabSites
Willingness to try out new practices and resources
Assisting the Learning Leaders in facilitating relevant Wednesday PD sessions
Conducting research of resources, curricula, teaching practice
