Dear colleagues,
Welcome to the third week of the year. This week may be considered to be closer to the so-called “normal” after the listening conferences, back-to-school-night, the first extended learning, and just building the routines in your teaching and learning. All in all, we had a great week, given that the grade 1 was sent home for Friday. It seems that the virus has come from home and no further spread is evident. Angela and Liam will have their students back in the school on Monday again.
This week has the first monthly faculty briefing on Tuesday and Wednesday Collaboration and Learning Session. On Tuesday we have items like reminders of our COVID-19 protocols, recess supervision, and looking ahead for future dates, events, and plans. The Wednesday session is focusing on Extended Learning. We will explore the purpose and what it is, and from where exactly we are trying to extend the learning. Also, we will spend a chunk of time planning the future one(s).
We would like to welcome Tangala back to school and the students will be surely looking forward to engaging in the visual arts again.
Once again, we wish Cara the most enjoyable maternity leave and welcome Heather back to CA!
Have a wonderful week!
Riana, Trevor, and Heikki
