Welcome back from the sunny and beautiful long weekend! We certainly hope you took the advantage of the three days to charge your energy resources and feel mentally prepared for the 5 weeks ahead of us leading to the fall break.
This Wednesday we will explore the ManageBac unit planning tool that our school has adopted in order to better align the CA written curriculum i.e. standards and planning of the units in all subject areas in grades PreK - Grade 12. The second hour of the session is dedicated to planning the next units.
On Thursday, we will have the second assembly of the year. Please, support your students to express themselves in our assemblies and consider sharing some of the rich learning experiences we can see at school every day.
Finally, we would like to draw everyone’s attention to some of the recent social challenges that we are seeing more in the playground and when students are making their way to and from school. The honeymoon of the beginning of the school is clearly coming to an end and students are trying to find and confirm their place and level of belonging to the community. We believe that we can all benefit from regular class meetings where you can provide a voice to the students about some social challenges they may be facing. Additionally, we can continue to be vigilant and take preventive measures when we are supervising students in the playground. Listen to the language and tone used, and how inclusive the choices of games, activities, and languages are. Provide guidance and seek solutions together with the students.
