Dear Colleagues,
We hope you took advantage of the beautiful weekend. Spending time outside is a great way to enjoy life in the midst of a pandemic.
We start this week by commemorating the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake on Monday. Please, see the great video by following the link below. For further information please contact Kasumi-san.
The R&D team will have the first meeting in 2022. Also, on Monday, the ES clubs will start.
Please note that if you are leading a club, make sure that students wear masks at all times and that if the students bring snacks for the afternoon, they must be consumed in an environment that has dividers, ventilation, and sufficient distance between the students. If this cannot be arranged the students should be advised to have their snacks after the club on the way home.
On Wednesday, we will spend some time at the beginning to go through the Distance Learning protocols and how we may prepare for such a situation in case the omicron will spread through the school community and makes it impossible to continue with face-to-face learning safely. The purpose of the session is to alleviate any stress or worries by being prepared for the worst-case scenario. The rest of the session is dedicated to planning for targeted learning. Unfortunately, this is a change to our Wednesday plans and it will also require the specialists to attend the first part of the meeting. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Thursday morning Lee Ann Jung will be leading a parent session about UDL. This is part of our strategic plan and bringing parents along with our journey to become truly an inclusive, modern, and forward-thinking international school.
Finally, we would like to inform you of changes in the Visual Art Exhibition and the Music Concert. The next assembly on 28 January will be transformed into Online Visual Arts and Musical Extravaganza of which will be also streamed to the parents at home. This will allow all the students and ES faculty to participate in and enjoy the artistic expression in grades 3, 4, and 5.
Let’s stay calm and enjoy the week
